Well it may not turn out this way at all. Hopefully the critical and creative constituents of this tangle will proliferate and hold there own in the wars for Internet sovereignty that are now being played out around us. And if were lucky we won't suddenly wake up and find ourselves subscribed to MSN with Oprah playing on every channel.

Bill and Oprah present two aspects of the same American search for utopia.
One is obsessed with "coolness", the other with "warmth".
But they represent the very narrow range of temperatures we are offered
as equillibrium. The result of our climate-controlled environment. And most
of us aren't that far away from having to lay
in a cord of wood to stay alive through the winter.
