I would like to invite you to participate in an on-line forum that I host called Utopia. In order to post a message you must get a password by joining the forum. The password membership helps screen out commercial posts and occasional browsers. The discussion on the Utopia forum is about the online world we are all making exist. Please feel free to start a thread on a topic you are interested in. As artists, musicians, writers and theorists I feel we should all present ourselves, our ideas and our work in this new medium/ space if only to make sure that the commercial interests and mass media moguls don't control the discourse in cyberspace. Some of the newer developments on the web this summer include cross-platform embedded Quicktime movies, Bubblevision and Virtual Worlds.
There is also interesting developments in the use of MIDI programs to play ambient music over the web. I've used the embedded Quicktimes to present some of my work. Please take a look and tell me what you think. The Url is: http://artnetweb.com/projects/fauxcon/aff.html

I don't know much about how music is developing on the web, although I received a post from Robbin Murphy announcing that David Bowie will release a single on the web this September that cannot be purchased in the stores. If any musicians or multi-media artists would like to share their thoughts in the Utopia forum they would be heartily welcomed. I know we are all incredibly busy trying to keep it all together but remember that sometimes the urgent things keep us from doing the important things.
I look forward to seeing your post in the Utopia forum.

G.H. Hovagimyan
