'Art On The Net ' (2nd Annual Contest of Digital Arts)

We, MACHIDA CITY MUSEUM OF GRAPHIC ARTS, YOKOHAMA MUSEUM OF
ART, ASAHI SHINBUN, and THE ART ON THE NET EXHIBITION COMMITTEE will be
co-producing the online, open exhibition using the world-wide computer network, THE INTERNET.
In the second "ART ON THE NET" Exhibition, we will explore the
potentials of HOME PAGE as a new medium of art. You are invited to send your
original HOME PAGE art via THE INTERNET from anywhere in the world.

Judges representing five poles in the world will be
evaluating your HOME PAGE. THE ART ON THE NET PRIZE, given to the work with the
highest points, is 1,000,000 yen. The Silver Prize and the Bronze Prize works
will be given 200,000 yen and 100,000 yen respectively.

The five judges are:
*HEIDI GURNDMANN/AUSTRIA
-- Producer of Austrian Broadcasting Corporation
*DEEDEE HALLECK/U.S.A.
-- Producer of PAPER TIGER TELEVISION
*SHU LEA CHEANG/U.S.A.
-- Media artist, film director of "Fresh Kill"
*HANK BULL/CANADA
-- Media artist, director of "Western Front"
*TETSUO KOGAWA/JAPAN
-- Media critic, professor of Tokyo Keizai University, guest curator of the exhibition

The deadline by which the work should reach us is June 30, 1996 (your time). HOME PAGES which pass the first screening will be
exhibited on THE INTERNET from July 27, 1996 through January 31, 1997.
